Downtown Gardiner

Maine is rich with children's authors and illustrators and what better way to bring books alive than for children to meet the people who created their favorite stories! Join us at 10am for our kick-off parade dressed in your favorite character costume.  The day includes author/illustrator presentations, music, art, face painting, a downtown book hunt, Open Book Players reader's theater original presentation of each of the author's work and, of course, book signings throughtout the day. 

Gardiner's downtown offers many other opportunities for families to enjoy. . . the scenic Kennebec River, the Kennebec River Rail Trail, a self-guided historic walking tour, bowling at Lucky Strike Lanes, and our many shops and restaurants.
